Here are some useful tips and suggestions to easily solve true, false, not given in IELTS exam -

1-  The very first and most important tip is to read the instructions provided right before the questions in a very careful manner. Do not hurry to solve the questions as carelessness in how to answer might lead to a reduced band scores. I have generally observed that every 2 out 10 students misinterpret and write Yes/ No/ Not Given instead of True/ False/ Not Give or vice versa, which may result in less band scales.

2- The second tip to remember always is not to make any assumptions while you answer these questions. Ignore what you already know and answer the questions purely based on the facts / information provided within the passage.

3- Moreover, there will be at least one answer of each type in the list of questions provided. So if you do not have a TRUE/ FALSE/ NOT GIVEN even after solving 05 to 06 questions, you might need to revise your answers to find any possible mistakes. The rule holds true 95% of times. For the remaining 05% there might be one of the component answer missing from the list.

4- In order to effectively answer these questions, you will have to be familiar with the question pattern and how to answer these questions.

A TRUE/ FALSE/ NOT GIVEN question will generally be in the form of a complete statement. You will have to read the passage in a very careful manner and then decide whether the information asked in the question is available in the passage or not and if yes then in what meaning.

5. If the information is present in exactly the same fashion as is asked or provides a similar meaning overall as asked in the question you need to put it as a TRUE ANSWER.
